POLISH DOCS PRO AT DOK LEIPZIG INDUSTRY 2024

This year's edition of DOK Industry, a series of events for film industry insiders that accompany DOK Leipzig – one of the most important documentary film festivals in Europe – will take place from 28 till 31 October. Leipzig will be visited by a Polish delegation of producers and filmmakers who will present themselves to international film industry representatives during events prepared as part of the Polish Docs Pro project.

Polish producers and filmmakers will get the opportunity to promote, participate in networking meetings, and search for international partners as part of the open DOK Industry program.

Producers representing the following companies, representing the projects that took part in the Docs to Start and Docs to Go pitching sessions at KFF Inustry 2024,  will participate in the DOK Industry delegation:

Marta Szymanowska / KIJORA FILM – project „Isabella” by Joanna Janikowska
Mateusz Wajda / MX35 – project „En Garde” by Mateusz Wajda
Maciej Kubicki / Telemark – projects „The World Is Not (a) Mine” by Natalia Koniarz and „In The Circle” by Michał Bielawski
Marta Wierzbicka / Smart Films – project „On My Own Terms” by Taduesz Chudy
Michał J. Owerczuk / Imagine Media – project „Cambodjana” by  Michał J. Owerczuk

Producers will take part in the Delegation Mix&Match and in the German-Czech-Polish co-production meetings co-organised by the Institute of Documentary Film in Prague.

Morever one  Polish-German  project  has been invited to DOK Co-Pro Market - „Letters” by Andrei Kutsila, produced by DocEdu Foundation and DOCDAYS Productions GmbH, project „The Town That Drove Away” by  Natalia Pietsch and Grzegorz Piekarski, prod. Katarzyna Kostecka / Larmo will be presented at DOK Preview Training, and project „My Father. The Iceman” by Łukasz Kowalski, prod. Anna Mazerant / 4.30 STUDIO will take part in Leipzig session of Ex Oriente workshop.

DOK Leipzig's festival program is also going to include a number of Polish highlights. Viewers will get to see Polish documentaries: „A Year in a Life of the Country” by Tomasz Wolski, „Flowers of Ukraine” by Adelina Borets and  You can read more about Polish films in Leipzig here.

Polish Docs Pro delegation is organized by the Krakow Film Foundation   and it's co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage within a frame of the Polish Creative Industries Development Center Progaramme “Rozwój Sektorów Kreatywnych”.

The project Polish Docs PRO focuses primarily on a wide promotion of Polish documentary film industry at international events addressed to film professionals. It supports film-makers and producers in developing their projects by facilitating access to the markets abroad, co-coordinating the trips of delegations to the pitching forums and co-production markets, organising the presentations of projects, production models and co-production opportunities with Poland, organising networking meetings, participation in lectures, panel discussions, workshops and training sessions. The aim of the Polish Docs PRO is to establish the brand of Polish documentary film in the international film environment and to develop international co-operation.
