POLISH TITLE: AFRYKAŃSKI SEN

Krystyna, a teacher from Gdańsk, leaves for a trip to West Africa following the path of Kinga’s, her daughter, journey. Kinga died in Ghana from malaria, but earlier she managed to buy out a 11 year old girl, Ekua, from slavery. The little girl’s family living in an extreme poverty, had sold the girl as a labour force to bar owner in Abidjan, the biggest town in the Ivory Coast. Krystyna, following the notes in Kinga’s diary, goes through exotic countries: Burkina Faso, Ivory Cost, Ghana to find little Ekua and find out of any way to help children forced to the slavish work. During this trip, she tries to understand surrounding world of Africa and people that consider contact with a white man a chance for earning some money for the meal and hope for any help.
