Elżbieta Czyżewska was an eminent theatre and film actress and a beauty icon of the 1960s dubbed Polish Marilyn Monroe. She started her stunning career as early as while at university. She played at best theatres and for best directors. She was unrivalled. After her wedding with David Halberstam, at the height of her fame, when she decided to conquer America, the situation changed diametrically. The film is a dramatic story of a woman who was a legend when she made one decision which determined the rest of her life.
