THE END OF THE VALLEY OF TEARS

POLISH TITLE: KONIEC ŚWIATA W DOLINIE ŁEZ

The residents of the village of Tichilesti, which is located in Danube Delta eastern Romania, live far away from civilization, in the quiet among dogs and cats that roam the streets. Their everyday life follows the rhythm of nature, which is determined by the changing seasons.

But this calmness means death because Tichilesti also called The Valley of Tears was where lepers were exiled for decades.

Under communism, the village was wiped off the map by order of the authorities, and its inhabitants were strictly forbidden to leave the area.

Today, only the last few of them are alive, but this place still has a bad reputation as a leper colony, which makes even members of their families don't want to visit the village.
